Oluwaseun Badru focuses on infectious disease research using both qualitative and quantitative methods. His scholarship concentrates on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which remains a major public health challenge due to the increasing global population living with HIV. Currently, Badru is exploring issues around HIV prevention among men who have sex with men in the United States, a population that is disproportionately affected by this disease.  He is also collaborating on a project involving contraceptive use among women living with HIV in Cross River, Nigeria. Additionally, Badru is part of a research project capturing the experiences of mothers caring for children with facial clefts in Nigeria and Ghana through photos and narratives.

After graduation, Badru wants to secure a faculty position and continue pursuing HIV prevention research.
