Emma Chase is an undergraduate research assistant on a project examining unequal hiring rates among different racial or gender demographic groups. When companies evaluate the equitability of a selection process, they usually evaluate direct predictors, such as their recruitment or interview processes. Chase is part of a team that uses a range of AI-based tools to analyze data and identify predictors of hiring likelihood that are present before an individual ever becomes a job candidate. Chase focuses on how gifted and talented education programs in early and secondary education eventually influence the development of differences in hiring rates.

After graduation, Chase plans to work as an employee experience specialist, utilizing her background in data analytics and psychology to make a positive impact on employees’ experiences at work.
