Alaa Harb studies the cognitive and emotional well-being of older adults. She examines how stress and resilience impact cognitive decline throughout the aging process. By investigating the biological markers of stress, Harb aims to develop strategies to support mental health and cognitive function, promoting a healthier aging process. This work may improve interventions for age-related cognitive issues and support older adults in leading healthier, more fulfilling lives.

After graduation, Harb plans to continue research in cognitive health and aging. She hopes to collaborate with international researchers to address global challenges in aging and mental health, as well as mentor students and contribute to the academic community in a faculty role.
