Aubrey McEnroe’s research explores the intersection of mental health and rural life, investigating how the unique stressors of agricultural work impact mental well-being. Specifically, her research examines the effects of discrimination on the mental health and career outcomes of women in agriculture throughout the United States. Her current research question centers on how women’s identity salience and experiences with discrimination impact their well-being and burnout within the male-dominated field of agriculture. She has presented her work at national and state conferences, including the American Psychological Association (APA) Annual Conference and the Iowa Psychological Association (IPA) Spring Conference.

After graduation, McEnroe plans to return to her hometown and open a private practice that offers mental health services to individuals in the local community and surrounding communities.
