Appointment(s):
Assistant Professor, Department of Orthodontics
College(s): Dentistry
Nathan Holton studies human evolution, and in particular, changes that have occurred to the nasal region. His recent research indicates that, during growth, the size of the nasal region is influenced by body size and the need to supply the body’s tissues with sufficient amounts of oxygen. This has important implications for understanding how evolutionary changes in body size between archaic and modern humans may have influenced evolutionary changes in the nasal region. Related video.
