Dare to Incorporate Conscience

Joseph Yockey

Appointment(s):

Professor and Michael and Brenda Sandler Faculty Fellow in Corporate Law

College(s): Law

Whether primarily or secondarily, laws create structures that impact society. Joseph Yockey’s research on social enterprises studies this phenomena by focusing on for-profit businesses that advance specific social missions, such as one company’s efforts to franchise affordable public toilets to alleviate the sanitation crisis in parts of Africa. He explores unique ways in which laws can encourage social enterprises to develop and flourish. A highly regarded teacher, Yockey is also a member of the University Faculty Senate, Faculty Council, and the Presidential Committee on Athletics.
