While many people think the gym is the only place to get fit, Lucas Carr wants to inspire people to reimagine their office space as a place that they can improve their health. He’s found people who work in sedentary jobs are at an increased risk for serious health conditions such as multiple chronic diseases, poorer cognitive function, and mental distress. In a recent study, he discovered that retrofitting office desks with a portable pedaling device helped employees be more active while at work which was associated with improved concentration at work, fewer sick days and even weight loss.
